About Claude Parrish

Claude Parrish, former Vice-Chairman of the State Board of Equalization, Third Equalization District, served approximately eight million residents in Riverside, Orange, San Diego and Imperial counties as well as a portion of Los Angeles County. Prior to serving as a Board Member, Claude served as a Los Angeles County Insurance Commissioner. Claude has held positions in management, finance and the securities industry. He holds a degree in accounting and graduated from college Summa Cum Laude. While at American Broadcasting Company, Claude Parrish supervised the management of ABC’s Entertainment Center and West Coast Corporate Headquarters in Century City. He was next appointed as Vice President of management by a large real estate trust where he was in charge of managing properties in excess of 450 million dollars.

Claude was born and raised in Southern California. Claude was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as one of California’s leading young business executives when he owned a small business. Claude has served as a District Committeeman for the Los Angeles Area Council of Boy Scouts of America, Treasurer of the Los Angeles County Republican party and as a Corporate Controller of a securities firm.

“The County Assessor is one of the most important offices in Orange County. As a former Board of Equalization member you were Chairman of the Board’s Property Tax Committee for four years. That committee creates and reviews every property tax regulation in our state. Additionally, one of the Board of Equalization’s major responsibilities is to audit the operations and practices of California’s fifty-eighty County Assessors. You possess the three basic qualities necessary to properly fulfill the goal of the Orange County Assessor: Experience, fairness and absolute honesty.”
